What does a Botox® treatment involve?
It’s completely relaxed.
Please allow about 30 minutes for your treatment with Dr. Sommer—including a personal consultation, a detailed explanation of the procedure, and the treatment itself.
Afterward, you’ll stay in our waiting area for about 10 minutes to rest.
Just drop by. Take a deep breath. Then you’re good to go.
After your treatment, please note the following:
Take it easy for a while.
Please avoid lying flat for about 4 hours and refrain from exercise, saunas, wearing hats, and direct sunlight for 24 hours.
Which areas can be treated?
Typical areas include:
- Frown lines (glabellar lines)
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Bunny lines (nasal folds)
- Mouth and lip wrinkles (perioral wrinkles, also known as “Merkel’s lines”)
- Chin lines
- Front of the neck
- Masseter (e.g., for teeth grinding or to gently contour the lower third of the face)
In particular, treatment of the masseter muscle can be beneficial not only for aesthetic reasons but also for functional ones—for example, in cases of bruxism or muscle tension in the jaw area.
We’ll determine which region is right for you during a personal consultation.

When do the effects start, and how long do they last?
The effects usually begin after a few days. The full results are typically visible after about 10–14 days.
The effects last an average of three to six months, depending on muscle activity and metabolism.
Is the treatment painful?
The injections are administered using very fine needles and are generally well tolerated. If necessary, the skin can be cooled.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
- Avoid lying flat for about 4 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and direct sunlight for 24 hour
- Do not massage the treated area
Just a little caution—then you can go about your daily routine as usual.
Who is not eligible for treatment?
The following individuals are excluded from treatment:
- Minors
- Pregnant women
- Women who are breastfeeding
- Individuals with certain pre-existing neurological conditions
- Individuals with acute infections or febrile illnesses
Especially in the case of an acute infection, the body needs rest and time to recover. In such situations, we prefer to postpone treatment—your health always comes first.
During a personal consultation, we will carefully assess whether there are any medical reasons that would preclude treatment.
